Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is a treatment technique that involves manipulating the soft tissues of the body, including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia, to improve physical and mental health. It’s often used to relieve stress, reduce pain, improve circulation, promote relaxation, and support overall well-being.

At Radiance, we are proud to draw on over 18 years of massage therapy experience to offer a unique blend of massage techniques tailored to your condition.

We believe the best results can be found in deep tissue techniques that are both productive AND relaxing. With a special focus on the abdomen, we also offer a range of specialties in this area including: Arvigo Techniques of Mayan Abdominal Massage, Visceral Manipulation, and Chi Nei Tsang.

Experience Acussage, the powerful synergy of Massage Therapy and Acupuncture in one session.

What to Expect

A bright yet restful treatment room with a spa-like ambiance. Enjoy cozy touches such as a heat lamp, aromatherapy and hot towels to help relax and pamper you. After a brief intake, your practitioner will step out of the room so that you can undress to your level of comfort.

Once you’re settled onto the heated massage table, under sheets and a luxuriously soft blanket, your session will begin. Massage techniques will be combined in a way best suited to meet your treatment goals.

Other treatment modalities such as cupping or gua sha or Prelude Upgrades may be added as needed or by request.

How often should I get a massage?

Chronic issues: Weekly or bi-weekly
Stress relief or maintenance: Monthly

Are there any side effects?

Mild soreness, fatigue, or emotional release are common. Serious side effects are rare if the massage is done correctly.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothes. During the massage, you'll typically undress to your comfort level — many people keep underwear on. You'll be covered with a sheet or towel except for the area being worked on.

Should I eat before a massage?

A light meal or snack is fine. Avoid heavy meals right before.

Does massage hurt?

It shouldn’t be painful. Deep tissue techniques may be intense, but should feel “good-hurt,” a productive pain. It should not feel sharp or unbearable or bruisy. Always tell your practitioner if something hurts and pressure will be modified to your level of comfort.

Can I talk during the massage?

Sure, if you want to. Some people prefer silence; others like to ask questions or talk. It’s up to you!

What should I expect after a massage?

- You may feel relaxed or even a bit sleepy
- Mild soreness the next day or two (like after a workout)
- Increased range of motion or mood improvement
